You've heard that the village of Winworth is built near a Crevice or Pit.. They are known for their fur trade, and the settlement is protected by simple dirt ditch. Order is maintained by Mirabelle, a content Farmer and the laws are enforced by village militia.

Entering the village proper you notice the squalid conditions. The village folk here are very poor, living in mud-floored huts, or vermin-infested barn houses. They have little shelter from the elements, and live in a desperate and violent environment, in places rife with disease..

Some services are offered in town:

* Patrick is a cold Priest/Priestess:. They wear flamboyant or outlandish clothes, and plays with a coin. They heard, Travelers coming down river say blight is spreading among scattered farms.

* Linyeve Is the local smith. They come across as persistent, are missing teeth, and slurs words, lisps, or stutters. They recently, was foraging or hunting for food, They had an encounter with a trapped predatory beast. Instead of slaying it, they freed it. The freed beast then disappeared. Later, they were trapped by a falling log. The same beast reappeared, aiding and freeing them.

* Dyana Is a loyal Alchemist. They have a crooked or rigid posture, and mutters to themselves. They made an enemy, of a rival after they killed one of their relatives

The Staggering Stag is known for being a gambling den. Emerick the Innkeep, is unimaginative. They have an unusual eye color and sighs frequently. They heard, A band of rangers have been gathering at the inn every night this week. Their number is growing and common folk are starting to worry.

Along with the usual locals inside you meet:

* Alaire is a Hermit. They are creative, have a crooked or rigid posture, and avoids eye contact. They made an enemy, of a band of thieves after they killed on of their members

The tavern offers a basic bed in a private room for 7cp a night.
They offer watered down ale and the cook's speciality is Stewed snails and garlic.

Asking around with the locals, you learn that nearby is a Great stone wall, intact, with tower fortifications.
