During your youth your family adopts a young human into the clan, the son/daughter of an old family friend

The character was born in a foreign land and moved to this land upon reaching adulthood. He almost certainly stands out as a foreigner.

Your people are past the peak of their prime. Social & economical decay has begun to set in. The government seems to have become self-perpetuating and careless to the people's needs. Previously common civil liberties and services are disappearing.

Poor: very low income. compared to many. He usually does not or cannot own property. His home is usually of lesser quality, sometimes due to uncaring landlords who may also be the Poor person's employer.

Legitimate: Your birth was a result of union between your father and mother, binding you in blood to your fathers family.

Grandparent(s): You were raised by your grandparent(s) due to the loss or absence of your parents.

Friendship: In your youth you gained a close friend with whom you trusted and had adventurers with. (Work with your DM to detirmine details)

Pickpocket: During your adolescence your family fell on hard times forcing you to turn to petty theft and other criminal activities involving you with criminal organisations.

As an adult you joined a rebellion against the local ruler, if successful you are outlawed, if it failed you escape, with only friends and family knowing your involvement. (Work with your DM to detirmine the details)

I'm a snob who looks down on those who can't appreciate fine art.

I've enjoyed fine food, drink, and high society among my temple's elite. Rough living grates on me.

Gold seems like a lot of money to me, and I'll do just about anything for more of it.
